PROVO– The Cougars were successful this season without having to rely heavily on older players. The team had just two seniors on the roster, with only Sarah Chambers Gardner in the starting lineup.
Coach Rockwood will bring back a high energy offense next year that peppered opposing goalies with shots, as well as a defense that gave up fewer goals per game than any other school in the country.
The players understand the importance this season’s experience will bring them next year. “We know what we need to do, and what is going to get us there, so experience is going to do a lot for us,” starting midfielder Elena Medeiros said.
