PROVO– Year in and year out, the Cougars are one of the top scoring teams in the nation, averaging at least 77 points a game for 7 straight seasons. “We’re a team that shoots quick but for the most part we take good shots,” Coach Rose said.
Last year the Cougars had more points than any other school at the foul line, earning almost 20 points a game from the charity stripe. The year before they were a force to be reckoned with inside the arc, hitting more two point field goals than the rest of the country.
“We got a lot of dudes who can… put the ball in the hole, and I think you guys know how valuable that is for… BYU, but [also for] how it can kinda hurt opponents,” senior guard Chase Fischer said.
The Cougars said this year the team plans on putting up a lot of points from downtown.
“We can really shoot the ball,” Fischer said. “Got a lot of guys who can do that. I think… we’ll have a little different team from last year for sure, but I think one thing we’re not lacking is the outside shooting.”
