PROVO– After winning the WCC, the Cougars have their sights set on bringing home the NCAA title, and the road starts in Provo. The Cougars snagged home court for the first couple rounds of the tournament with a 26-3 record. They earned the 13 Seed in the tourney and will start by hosting the Ohio Bobcats tonight.
The players weren’t hiding their emotions about staying in town. “As a team we couldn’t be more excited to be on our court, in our gym, and in our own beds so we’re all really excited,” Senior Libaro Ciara Parker said.
Players also said the fans are a big part of why they want to be home. They said the Cougar faithful help turn the Fieldhouse into a Madhouse, and the stats back that up. BYU hasn’t lost in Provo since the beginning of their 2014 season, and the Cougs don’t expect the streak to end this weekend.
BYU and Ohio aren’t the only schools playing here tonight– Arizona and Western Kentucky will start things off at 5 p.m.
