PROVO– BYU players are out to snag a Frisbee, just not on Sunday. The Cougars went 8-0 last Saturday up at Utah State, but had to forfeit because the tournament had Sunday games.
Still, BYU Ultimate Frisbee coach Bryce Merrill said they aren’t asking for a pity party. “We don’t want to come across as victims. We understand the system and we understand the rules and the culture of the league that we play in.”
Merrill said this forces them to perform nearly perfectly every Saturday to gain national consideration, and that scheduling rules won’t change in their favor until they become a force in the field.
